I love the holiday season. We start with Thanksgiving, then we move to Black Friday, which leads up to Christmas, and then we get to celebrate the New Year! I love this time of year and the movies that become traditions. You know the ones that leave you with that good feeling.
I always love watching Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas. It has become a tradition in my house to watch the new movies (as well as some of the old). I like how this brings everyone together through family friendly movies. I also love seeing books I have read come to life.
While I love the classics like The Grinch and Frosty the Snowman, I also love getting to watch brand new movies. One of the movies I'm excited about this year is The Man Who Invented Christmas. This film tells the magical journey that led to the creation of Ebenezer Scrooge (Christopher Plummer), Tiny Tim and other classic characters from A Christmas Carol. Directed by Bharat Nalluri (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day), the film shows how Charles Dickens (Dan Stevens) mixed real life inspirations with his vivid imagination to conjure up unforgettable characters and a timeless tale, forever changing the holiday season into the celebration we know today.
Just watching the featurette transports me into a beautiful Christmas setting that makes me excited for Christmas.
The Man Who Invented Christmas releases in theaters on November 22nd–just in time for the holidays!
Now that I shared my love of classic Christmas movies as well as new ones, I want to help you expand your movie collection this holiday season by giving away a DVD pack! Christopher Plummer from The Sound of Music, is starring alongside Dan Stevens from Beauty and the Beast and Downton Abbey in The Man Who Invented Christmas. The Sound of Music is a favorite at my house as well, so the DVD prize pack will include a copy of: The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, and, of course, A Christmas Carol!
