One Sweet Kiss
by Kelly Irvin
Everybody in little Bee County, Texas, can see the obvious: Jacob King and Martha Byler are meant to be together. Everyone, that is, but Martha. Ever since her mother died when Martha was a young girl, she has taken over the role of caregiver to her large family. And reckless Jacob, who has had a little too much fun on his rumspringa, only seems to add to the list of people to manage. But one summer changes everything, and these two may just find a way to meet in the middle and share one sweet kiss.

An Amish Summer brings together four popular Amish Fiction authors for summer themed romance stories.
The first story in this collection is A Reunion in Pinecraft by Shelley Shepard Gray. I was excited to see Shelley as part of this collection. I recently read her book Her Secret and really enjoyed it. That made me excited about this novella.
At first, this story was a little confusing, but I almost think that was a good thing. I know that sounds odd, but let me share this story with you. Sharon and Sherilyn (Sherry) Kramer are sisters. However, their names sound very similar, which makes the story confusing.
Now imagine what happens when Graham, who was at the same wedding as Sharon and Sherilyn are supposed to meet. Graham had been writing to one of the sisters, but when they reunite, he finds out he was writing to the wrong one.
Like I said, it was confusing to keep everyone straight, but I almost feel like that helped me understand Graham a little better. I mean, if I was confused, imagine his surprise and confusion!
Overall, this was an enjoyable story. It had a unique storyline, which made it interesting. I’m not sure I loved the similarity in the names as it was confusing, but it was still an enjoyable read.
The next book is Summer Storms by Amy Clipston. In this story, Arianna is counting down the days until her wedding to Jesse. Her brother, Isaac, puts himself in a dangerous situation and Jesse tries to help him.
Things don’t go as planned and Jesse and Arianna’s future together becomes threatened. In Amy’s usual style, I was drawn into this story and really enjoyed the romantic elements.
The next story is Lakeside Love by Kathleen Fuller. Esther has always been in the shadow of her sister, Sarah, who is beautiful and not to mention younger than Esther. Boys have been after Sarah. Esther has had her eye on Judah, but even he only sees Sarah.
I really enjoyed this story. I was pulled in by the characters and enjoyed watching their story unfold.
The final story is One Sweet Kiss by Kelly Irvin. This story is set in Bee County, Texas. Everyone can see the obvious, that Jacob King and Martha Byler are meant to be together. Everyone, that is, except Martha.
Martha has taken on the role of mother to her large family and Jacob is reckless. I enjoyed this story, but I particularly liked the rumspringa aspect. While Jacob enjoyed it more than he should have, it made for an interesting story.
I really enjoyed this novella collection. I liked the authors who were in it and each of the stories were enjoyable.
