Let me just start out by saying that I LOVE Melissa Tagg’s books! I just started reading her books this year and let me tell you, she has quickly risen to my must read list. As in, must…get…my…hands…on…the…next…book…NOW list! Haha. Anyway, One Enchanted Eve is the followup to One Enchanted Christmas which I absolutely loved!

While these are both novellas, Melissa does a fantastic job developing the characters and creating a depth to the story few authors are able to do in such a short story. This book felt as though it was developed like a full length novel and for that I give Melissa great credit!

If you haven’t read the first book in the series, you may not want to read the rest of this review because it may spoil a little of the first book.

In this second book, we read about Colin and Rylan. Colin has a lot of mistakes he is carrying with him and he has a lot to deal with, including the way he has treated girls in the past. I found Colin’s character to be relatable as we all have regrets. I felt for Colin, yet I understood the way others viewed him because of his past.

The concept of Colin and Rylan was interesting. I may have liked to see a different profession other than cooking, just because it seems to be fairly common with romance authors to write about culinary professionals, but Melissa took this and made the story her own and delivered another great book!

I enjoyed this entire story and the way it played out. Melissa was sure to weave in her writing elements I have come to know and love. I love how we were transported back to Maple Valley, Iowa again.

One Enchanted Eve was another great story by Melissa Tagg! I can’t wait to read what is next from her!
