Have you heard Chris Tomlin’s single Good Good Father? If you haven’t (or you would like to hear it again) here it is:

You likely know Chris for his music, but his new children’s book helps connect the message of his song through the story of a bear named Tucker. In the book Tucker’s life as well as the townspeople are forever changed when they learn just how great the King's love is for them. Along the way, Tucker encounters a variety of curious, humorous animals who each know one great thing about the King. However, they each have limited views of what makes him good.

With cute illustrations and a solid storyline, this book is one I will enjoy reading to my nieces. As I do, they will be reminded that God truly is a good, good Father and they are loved by Him.

“What an exciting journey to write my first children’s book,” said Tomlin. “Being a dad makes this so special. It’s my prayer that Good Good Father helps children understand the amazing reality that we can call God our Father, that we are His beloved sons and daughters. It’s a simple, yet powerful story—one that has been kid-tested in my own home and a joy to watch my girls experience.”

I enjoyed the connection between the song and book. I personally gained a deeper understanding of the song through this book. I think it is really cool for children to get this connection between a song they hear on the radio and a story they get to read.

I hope Chris comes up with other children’s titles based on the message in his songs.
