I've been in the mood for a relaxing and enjoyable romance book for a while now. When I saw that Denise Hunter's book, The Goodbye Bride, was based around a character named Zac, I decided to pick it up. I'm so glad I did!
At first I wasn't sure I would like the concept of the story with Lucy being unable remember leaving her fiancé. I thought it might be a cheesy concept, however, I really enjoyed it. Lucy left Zac Callahan shortly before their wedding. Zac tried contacting her and finding her, but was never able to reach her. One day, Zac gets a call from Lucy and the story gets really interesting.
I listened to most of this book while I did house work and I didn't want to stop working because I was enjoying this story so much. I felt the frustration in Lucy and the hurt in Zac. My heart was pulled as it hurt for both of the characters. In one way, I would ask why Zac would do that when Lucy did this, but then I would get past my feelings and get a better understanding of the situation.
The one aspect that stood out the most to me in this book was the uniqueness of the story and the way it played out. Since reading this book, I'm hooked on Denise's books and can't wait to get my hands on the next, and final, book in the series (Just a Kiss).
